When should I start panicking?

I realize that the office of undergrad admissions has a ton of paperwork to sort, but my second teacher rec was sent out a week and a half ago, and it still hasn't been received (according to the online application tracker), whereas my first teacher rec that was sent in several weeks ago was received in under a week. (I'm sure this has something to do with the volume of mail the office's getting now that it's getting closer to the ED deadline.)

Should I just sit tight and wait with my breath held, or should I at least call a couple days before the deadline and ask if they've received my second teacher rec and counselor forms?

And it is all right if, by the deadline, I still see "not yet received" on the online application tracking program, right?

It's always OK to call and see if something got received.

When sending things near the deadline, sending them certified, registered, or (probably just as good) delivery confirmation is a very good idea for piece of mind. Delivery confirmation costs about $1.25, and you get a number you can use to track your package on www.usps.com .

well i clicked the thread cuz of the title and basically just wanted to answer like this w.o reading: yesterday.

But panicking won't help. Might as well call and ask if it is normal and whether you should resend it or not.

All right, thanks. I'll definitely call tomorrow.

The documents have to be postmarked by 11/1, right? They don't actually have to reach the office by 11/1 (especially the teacher recs and counselor forms)?

Also, if I sent Part II of my app in electronically last Friday, then can I safely assume that it will be received and processed at some point?

Well, you cannot assume. Don't they notify you that it has been received?

When I checked my application today, it said that part two and my essay were received, as well as the financial aid application, so I guess that's one less thing to worry about.

And it turns out that my GC hasn't even sent out my stuff. So I might just call about the second teacher rec.
