I feel really stupid right now. Here's my situation:

I'm a rising junior I'll be taking AP CALC BC next year. I just realized that some school I'm interested in require a Math Subject test. I never took Precalc, only Algebra II.

When do you guys think should I take the exam? Wait until spring (AP test season :( ) or try to study now and take it in the fall/winter? I can't remember a whole lot from Algebra 2, and the Geometry information has completely disappeared. We don't use a whole lot of that information in Calc, unfortunately.

Please help and thanks ahead of time!

You need a fair amount of algebra, geometry, and trig in a calculus course…try not to forget them!

Anyway, I would probably take it earlier just to get it over with. For Math II, you probably only need minimal review of algebra, geometry topics (quadratics, functions, area/volume formulas, etc.) and some practice. Also, they test a few discrete topics (including counting principles, probability, statistics, number theory) so it might help to try a few of those questions, too.

Ok. I’ll buy Barron’s SAT Subject Test Math 2 book to study and take it in the fall. Hopefully, I won’t have to retake it. Thanks for the advice!

No problem…best of luck on Math II!
