I am debating wether or not to take the ACT + writing in April and then again in June, or take it in June and then again in either September or October. This will be my first time taking the ACT. In order to prepare for it, I have purchased The Real ACT + PR's ACT. My goal is to score at least a 30, which I think I am capable of doing relatively easily. The only thing though about taking it in April is that I will be really stressed out studying for AP's, SAT II's and the SAT and softball is in full swing, which means either a pratice or a game every single day. June would be perfect time to take it because I'll be pretty much done with all my tests but the only thing I am concerned about is the gap between the two tests. I will also not really have time to study during the summer because I have an internship that requires me to go away and pretty much be busy all the time. Also, does it look bad taking the ACT 3x? Any advice is greatly appreciated! :)

they will only see your highest score so even if you take it 7 times it wont matter...a friend of mine took it 8 times to get that 33...and now he's going to duke... if money is not a problem then you should take it in april and in june otherwise in june

Keep in mind that "score choice" only applies if you don't put any schools down when you register (and that includes your high school if it puts scores on your transcript). This means you give up the 4 free reports you get with registration.

If it were me, I would take it as many times as possible (if money is not an issue, of course) and don't send it to any colleges just yet. Also, if money is an issue remember the one free waiver and you might be able to get assistance from other sources.

So yeah, even if you don't study at all, take it in April just to get a benchmark score on the real thing. That's what I would do anyway. :)
