When should I take the SAT again?

Hello, I recently took the SAT this past January and got a decent score of 2230. I want to apply early to Penn and I was wondering if I should take it again in June with less preparation to try and get a better score for the early decision application or wait and prepare further and take it in October/November? My superscore is 2290. If it was above 2300 I would’ve likely stopped but I don’t even know anymore. I feel like 2290, much less 2230, isn’t going to cut it for Penn what with all the 2350+ students that apply. Any personal experience or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

You’re joking, right?

No actually I’m not. I want to maximize my chance at getting into the college of my dreams so naturally I’d want to do the very best that I can. At my school there are tons of people with scores over 2300 so if I want to compete with them then I’d better damn well try to get a higher score.

If you know you can do better, by all means, go ahead, but let that be your last SAT. Don’t wanna take it over 3 times. Just saying that past 2250, scores dont play much of a role.
