When should I take the SAT II Bio?

I'm planning on taking both the SAT II and AP biology tests this year, and there is one SAT II in March and another in June. The AP biology exams are in May. I haven't studied very thoroughly for either yet, but since I remember all of the things we've learned in biology this year I'm considering taking the March SAT II. Would you recommend I take the SAT II or AP first? I've heard that the AP biology exam is more difficult than the SAT II, so should I take the AP biology exam first (and possibly feel more prepared for the SAT II?) or the SAT II?

If you've taken both the same year, could you tell me what you did? Thanks. (:

Take it in march or may…I would do it in May since you will already be studying for the AP exam and the SAT II is very similar so you would kill two birds with one stone…but that is just me. Don’t put it off to June since AP classes finish in May and you don’t want to keep studying when you should be done.

There are no SAT IIs provided in March.

And it’s easier to score a 5 in the AP exam than to get an 800 for SAT II biology. AP Bio’s curve is pretty harsh. I know my senior friends who have gotten 5s in AP Bio but struggled to get 800 (the highest score one got was a 790). But again, that depends on different people.

I actually disagree with drac313. If you are done with the AP by the second week of May, you’ll have that extra time to prepare for the SAT II test for June. I took the June test last year for biology (without taking a proper bio class or an AP class) and I thought I did poorly on it, but managed to get 700+. So maybe the curve for the June test is pretty generous? I’m not sure. But I recommend that you take it in June.
