When should I take the SAT junior year?

<p>I'm currently a junior and was wondering when I should take the SAT? I want to take it once this year and once as a senior. I think June is too late because I'll be studying for finals then, but other than that when should I take it?</p>

<p>Also should I take the ACT this year or as a senior (I only plan on taking it once)?</p>

<p>I think you’ve answered your own question here. It’s too late to register for the March SAT, and if June is too late, you’re left with taking it in May for the first time.</p>

<p>If you haven’t started preparing yet you may want to take it in June. Ideally you should prepare for at least 3 months before the test. I recommend 15-20 minutes per day for the math. Whether you take it in May or June, you can take it a second time in October. </p>

<p>Take the ACT over the summer. This way you will not have to prepare for the 2 exams simultaneously.</p>

<p>I think you should take the May one. 2 months is enough to prepare as long as you use it wisely (i.e. don’t leave it all to the last minute).</p>
