Okay, so I'm in the top 2% of my class and got my acceptance in about 3 days. However, my friend that I desperately want to room with is not in the top 8% and she has STILL not gotten any reply what so ever. I sent my application out on October 31, 2010 and she sent her application off on November 15, 2010. She checks her mail every day and checks her application status online as well. All it says is something along the lines of "Pending"

Does anyone know how long this might take?

My son received his CNS acceptance notification thru status check yesterday. I checked it every day for him. What school/major is your friend applying to?

The “word on the street” is Feb 15. Not official, but sounds reasonable. It depends on the school - McCombs will likely be the last to notify.

She is going for the school of Natural Sciences. I hear that it’s less competitive than most of the other schools, so hopefully even though shes only top 18% all of her credentials, extracurriculars, and grade will get her in. She is waaaay smarter than me and the only reason why her GPA is low is because she transferred to America 2nd semester of sophomore year from a different country. Oops now I’m just ranting…

Well anyways, thank you for the help.

What is her second choice major? Maybe they are reviewing her for that?

Called Admissions office last month. The “official” answer was Feb 15th. We are OOS applicant, BTW.

Thanks. I wonder if they mean everyone will hear by Feb 15 (with notifications rolling out from now until then) or if there will be a huge posting to everyone on Feb 15? Some schools tell you that notifications will be posted on a particular date and time like 5:00 p.m on Feb 15. Then their servers crash when 10,000 people try to sign in at the same time!

It would be great if it were February 15. Much earlier than last year. I will be envious if that’s the case. It was so hard for my son to wait.
