My question's all in the title. any info, pls? much appreciated! And how do we know exactly whether our Decisions r in the first batch or not? Like, I'm wondering, how come some decisions r in the first batch, and others aren't...r they doing it based on the order in which the candidates applied?

Because i applied at the end of December...

Seems like most people got their letters today…but I’d give it until the end of the week.

As for why some got decisions now and not others…I think it’s just based on when the do a final review of the app. All apps go to a processing center where they get sorted out and sent along to each college. Just because you send your app in earlier doesn’t always mean you will hear earlier. If the adcom wasn’t sure about you they might put your app to the side and review it later…it’s not totally based on who’s app got in first.

You won’t know if your decision was in this 1st batch…you’ve just got to be patient…which I know is easier said than done!!

That is not necessarily true, dewdrop… “most people” (literally everyone else aside from equestrian, I believe) are from NY and NJ… I would give it a couple more days

I meant to say most people from NY and NJ…and I did say to give it a few days…but I guess in the middle of studying for 3 prelims, writing a paper and trying to help out people on this forum I made an error…and didn’t notice it until my edit window expired. Why do people on this forum feel the need to pick apart every little error people make??

cornell stated what you stated dewdrop. acceptances and rejections went out to some in no order and if you don’t get a letter this week, there is no particular reason. i forgot to ask and wish i had this: if you applied to two schools and one did not accept you is the reason for the delay because it was sent to the other school? makes sense?
