When should you start applying for MIT?

Should I start working on my application during the summer?

If I want to do Early Admission or regular?

Which one should I choose, and how much time does it take to do an application that's good?

1) I don’t think people have a standard for how soon they start, but first I’d organize when everything is due (applications, rec letters, transcripts, etc) for all the colleges you plan to apply to. I myself didn’t start my application over the summer, but might as well knock it out if you have time.

2) Do you feel you can have a strong application by October, or think another high school term will make it stronger?

3) This is individual. I went through applications quickly (which I attribute mostly to not being all that stressed out - I originally planned to do 4 applications and ended up doing 11 because I kept deciding to add one more when I was done). Don’t stress over the application process is my main tip. You write some essays (and reuse them where you can) and stay organized to get letters/transcripts in. It’s really not something to flip out over.

Yes

EA if your app is ready and the best it can be before Nov 1 and/or you don’t want to wait until March 14 for decisions

earlier the better, I’d say start during summer

Are you thinking about applying anywhere else? EA depends on a lot if you are also applying somewhere else that uses ED or SCEA.
