When should you take satIIs?

Should you take them after one or two honors classes in sophomore year or after APs in junior and senior year?

Preferably, after you’ve taken the course (taking the AP course would be most beneficial though). The year should not matter, but you want to give yourself enough time in case you need to retake one.

Just keep in mind that the SAT Latin is only offered once a year, in May, so you’ll want to try to do your subject tests in May, since you won’t be able to do a regular SAT and the Latin subject test SAT.

Son took the Latin after last year of Latin.

Other subjects, he’s taken after he’s finished that subject, ie, USH, CHEM, LATIN.

Along those lines, when should you take the math SAT subject tests?

Son has taken Alg I, then Geo, then Alg II, then Analysis.

Will take Calc AB next year, his senior year.

I would take them after the course or in the fall after thorough preparation over the summer.

I’m pretty sure it’s offered twice a year, in June and December.

Thank you so much for the correction about the Latin. I still think I’m in May. You’re right. Took it last weekend. That was June, wasn’t it?

Good to see it’s taken in December as well. Lots of friends are taking one more semester of Latin their senior year, so they’ll still have a shot.

Wish they had a Greek SAT subject test. Son will be taking Greek for one semester in the fall, then he’s done with that.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. I just finished a year of Greek.

To 112358, where are you from, and what kind of school (public, Catholic, private) do you go to? Just curious as to what other kind of schools offer Greek. Son goes to a Jesuit High School. His best friend’s dad jokes that they are getting them ready for the priesthood, with teaching Latin and Greek, both of which my son takes. But hey, where else are you going to get an opportunity to take that?

Also, my son came pretty close to failing one quarter of Greek, but he’s actually chosen it as an elective for senior year. Always the adventurer!
