Well, my worst nightmare. Another very competitive kid from my school is also applying to Georgetown EA. And several others as well. How will this affect the way the admissions committee views my application? Is it possible/probable that if they get apps from 2 good students from the same school that they will think about accepting us both? or is it more likely that they will try to figure out which one of us is better? Or worse yet -- for me -- take the one with the higher SAT score???

I would guess that if you have multiple students applying..........the acceptance rate from your HS in past years must be good. I think that you don't need to panic! Write good essays telling about yourself. No school is going to pick a candidate solely on SAT scores......so much else is involved. Be positive, let G'town know how much you want to go there.......don't come unglued. Be nice to the other applicants and don't take this so personally. I mean how could you have thought that you were the only student who thought G'town was a great school? You may have other students that are applying to schools in common w/ you. Ask about the admit rates last year. Perhaps your guidance counselor will tell you how many applied and the results. If not ask around.......keep listening you may find out anyway. Good luck.

Notred Dame accepted a couple kids from our school all EA

I believe that overall, there were something like 1500 accepted students from over a 1000 high schools. There are plenty of people from the same high school here, and thats not even considering how many were accepted but did not attend.

I appreciate these responses. Yes, I think it probably was silly of me to think that I was the only one who would apply to such a great place EA from my school. And yes, I think I have a compelling group of essays. So, as long as they do not say: okay, let's just choose 1 from this school, I should be okay. Heck, even if they do that, I might be the one. But, it does create concern.

I understand - I'm in the same situation as you.
