when the requirement says..

penn adcoms require 2 subject tests.. but doesnt everybody send in 3 at least?? would it be to my disadvantage if i only took 2 SAT II's?

not if u do really well on them…

they don’t require any if you send in that ACT plus writing, which is what i did. so, odds are, sending in only 2 subject tests won’t hurt you.

i got a 1860 on my SAT I that i took in march, and thats approx a 28 on the ACT… so i think i might study for the ACTs and take that in september… i’m planning to apply to penn ED and these standardized test scores are killing me!

what do you guys think about the ACT idea? then i wont have to stress about the sat IIs…?

I’m in the same boat. I got a 2050 on my SAT and I don’t think it’s good enough so I’m studying for the ACT for June and possibly for September. Did you not take any SAT IIs at all? I already took USH last year so I’m taking two more this year. If they’re good, I think I’ll send them in with along with my ACTs. But that’s just me, I’d rather be safe than sorry. Just take ones that you’d be best at, like math I or something

i took one, but thats my native language, so i dont know how much that’ll do for me.
im planning to take two more this may, but im really not confident about one of them, but i think im taking it anyway… if the score is bad, do you know if you can also do score choice for SAT IIs?

Yeah if you take two and get like 770-800 on both (I had two 800s in Chem and Math II)…then it shouldn’t be a problem. They’re really just a novelty…I guess to prove that you’re not a complete idiot. Your grades, SAT/ACT, and courseload are much more important academically speaking.

yeah, I didn’t send subject tests (only ACT) and was accepted early decision to the engineering school.

oh okay, thanks guys!

to dontstopbelievin: unfortunetly, no

to CU4L91… ??

are you talking about score choice for SAT IIs?

Yes, he is.
