ED deadline for S's favorite school is Nov. 15.
Is there any advantage or disadvantage to sending the application in somewhat early?

If it's ED, you are binded to go to the school, so the acceptance rate is higher.

No, theres no difference between sending it in November 14th and September 14th

^^Haha, I didn't understand the question.

its ok, youre going to MIT and i wish i was haha

Agreed... there is no advantage/disadvantage as to when you submit your ED application.

Thanks -- either way, I guess they know they're our first choice. S. is anxious to see the new application and essay topics.

At some schools, interviews are set up after they receive your application, and these may be first-come, first-serve, so there is an advantage to applying earlier. I'm pretty sure it works like this at my EA school. Read up on the college's website and check if there is any reason like this that sending it in earlier would help.

ED supposedly raises your chances of admission, but only if you had a decent chance to start. and sending your app in earlier does help in regular admission, but i have no idea about early. it may help slightly. i heard about one girl (supposedly too weak for stanford) from my school who sent in a stanford app regular decision by september or october and was accepted and told with all the SCEA applicants. though an anomaly it still gives the diligent some hope
