Im planning on applying early action to Christopher Newport University next year. The Deadline for early action is December 1, but when exactly should i apply? At a recent open house at the college the president stated that after the early action/decision people are accepted their enrollment limit is usually reached, meaning i want to apply early as possible. Does this mean i should apply November 10-20 or earlier if i can? or does it just not matter?

Balleigh, it is not possble to answer that question specifically for any school as they will have different ways of doing things. Some schools will just stack the apps until the deadline and everyone who get their app in by that date is on equal footing. Others will process as they come in and still others will take batches.

In my opinion, getting your stuff in as early as you can is a benefit because if something goes wrong, a mistake is made, there is potentially more time to fix it. Also, the high schools, colleges, all are not as pressed earlier in the process, because human nature is such that there is usually a full court press at the last minute.

Get your application in as soon as you can. It’s definitely possible to finish an application before December 1, especially if you’re getting a head start. I recommend having at least a second draft of your application essay(s) for this school by September. That way, you already have a good start that you can show teachers/GC/whoever you want to get help revising.
Good luck!(:
