Financial aid isn't an issue for me, and I really like four colleges in particular, Michigan, McGill, Washington and Hamilton. However, I've heard that applying ED to Hamilton really improves your chances, however, I'm not sure if I want to rule out the other three schools. I know that in this situation, most people would say to not apply ED, but I'm more 60/40 that Hamilton is my favorite school, rather than 50/50 or less.

For those of you currently facing or have faced a similar problem, why did you either eventually apply ED, or skip it.

Hamilton is so different from the other three. Are you sure you’ve thought through your selection criteria thoroughly and really understand what your priorities are? If you are really torn between small, LAC-type schools and large public universities, you might want to not apply ED so you have more time to achieve clarity on your educational objectives.

Also, LACs have strong personalities from which it is hard to escape, so you want to be very clear on the fit before you commit.
