I looked at the GA tech Application form and a freshman can applied during the fall or during the summer. Is there any significance between the times. I heard that you have a higher chance of getting accepted if you go during the summer (this is for every college)

I also have another questions: "Is it possible to send in your application and send in your scores at a later time if you going to take the test later."

I applied two days before admission closed and was fine. I don't think Tech differs too much unless you're trying for the Presidents Scholarship

I contacted GT and they say that an application would not be looked at untill all documents have been sent. So which would be benefitial for me. Applying for the normal deadline and retaking the ACT/SAT or applying for the early (oct. 31)

ACT: 20

English: 23
Math: 22

SAT:

Math: 580
Reading: 450

Yeah I know I am the worst test taker ever!!

GT doesn't really have an early application deadline - the October 31 date is just for Presidential Scholarship consideration, and I don't think you qualify with these test scores. I'd suggest you retake the tests and apply when (if) you end up with better scores.

I didn't think there was a minimum test score for the President's Scholarship? You just have to submit your app by 10/31?

The Presidential Scholarship is very competitive and only those who apply by 10/31 and have top grades, test scores, and ECs will get it. My son applied in October 2005 with much better test scores than those listed above and did not make the cut for Presidential semi-finalist that year.

So while they do not list minimums for the scholarship, realistically you have to have very good scores to get it.

So i am guessing there is no point for me to apply for the 10/31 with terrible scores. Everything else is fine, ECs and grades, just not my tests. I am retaking in December, but I heard that PS does accept December scores.

@2sommama: Regarding your son, did he still get accepted to GT

The earlier you apply the earlier you'll find out whether you got in. They do rolling admissions even though they don't say they do.

Yes, my son was accepted and is now a 2nd year EE student. He got his acceptance package just before Christmas, which was a nice surprise since admissions kept stressing that most folks wouldn't hear until February or March. So getting the application in early helped with that at least.
