When to ask for Professor Recommendations??

All of the schools that I'm planning on applying to only require 1 recommendation, but I gather that we're allowed to include as many as 2-3, right?

Professor 1: I took a class with him this past semester, and I'm taking another one of his classes in the fall. When should I ask him? During the first few weeks of next semester?

Professor 2: Graduate (or Phd?) student (about 28 years old) who taught (not a TA, it was solely HIS class) me during the first semester. Would a recommendation from him hold any weight? We had a great relationship. If yes, should I ask him at the beginning of next semester? I don't want him to forget me during the summer, but I also feel that it's pretty impolite to ask him via e-mail during this summer.

Professor 3: Haven't actually met yet! I'm taking a class with her next semester, and she is "world-renowned" in her field (my major). Would it be possible to get a recommendation from her if I get to know her really well right away? What's the latest I could ask her?

Thanks everybody!!!

It all depends on when you will be applying...for what semester?

whoops, sorry! This fall I will be a sophomore, and I'll be trying to transfer for the fall semester of my junior year (first app due feb 1).

bump pleaseeee!!

Well, then I would say at the end of this falls semester (at the latest)...that should give them plenty of time to meet a FEB 1 deadline...

thanks alot awin!

sorry, i've got to bump this up....

I'd reallllly appreciate it if someone would help me with my other questions. Thanks!!!!

End of the summer, I'd send them out and email. Why not? They'll certinly have pleanty of time to think about it and there's nothing wrong with that, right? Let them fit it into their schedule.
