When to ask for recommendations?

<p>I'll be applying for fall 06 so my application deadlines are in spring, but what if I want a recommendation from a professor that taught me this semester (fall)? Should have I asked the professor earlier in the course or should I ask now as there are only 2 weeks left? Or should I ask later on? </p>

<p>You should ask once you've finished a course, so a professor has a clear idea about your performance throughout a semester.</p>
