When to Call?

I applied to Cornell and rush-mailed my application January 1st b/c I am a procrastinator like that :)

So anyways, I haven't gotten any confirmation of my application having been received... how will I know? Should I call them?

TO EVERYONE WHO APPLIED RD TO CORNELL: have you received some form of confirmation?

thanksss you guys are amazing
xoxo

nope...not yet...

wow that was an impressively fast reply! thank you sachit!

oh... and i was feeling like the biggest weirdo for having 177 (now 178) posts but you have more haha that'll be me next month just you wait and seee!!

even i sent mine on th 30th of dec......so im gonna wait till the 25th of jan...

According to cornell, at the admissions self-service login page:
[quote]
Cornell is currently receiving a very large volume of application materials....Additionally, the Self Service application materials list will be unavailable between January 1 and January 31. We ask that you not send duplicate copies of your application materials. We will notify you in late January if we are missing materials from your application and will provide you with an opportunity to submit those materials.

There you have it folks, wait until the end of january/first of february to call and check.

What happens if my entire application is lost?

that sucks. Did you send part I seperately or with the rest of it?

No, I was just wondering, sparticus. I sent the entire thing together, app, supps, recs, reports.

well if you sent part I with it and never got a confirmation that really would suck. the chances of them losing it are really small though. Also, if you get no confirmation and no call at the end of january you can call and they'd be like "we never got one" but they'd most likely let you submit it then.

What's part one of the application? Is that the supplement?

Princeton lost an application from my school.

nevermind, cornell doesn't have a part I (anymore, if they ever did). Maybe I was thinking of some other school. Anyway, the Admissions Self Service website allows you to track what parts of the application cornell has received.

yes, but i haven't yet received my PIN, whatever that is!

if it doesn't arrive for 2 weeks from when you sent the app, call and they should give it to you.

the PIN doesnt arrive in the mail....i think.

go here to get ur PIN:

https://admissions.cornell.edu/selfservice/getpinid.cfm

I tried it, and it said they could not find my email.
The thread posted on the main page is also making me worried.
