<p>I am accepted by CIT as an ECE major in the class of 2018. But I want to do a double major/degree in CS. I have been told how hard it would be but I still want to do it. So I want to ask when should I contact my advisor to discuss about the courses selection. Thanks for your help.</p>
<p>Once your advisor emails you his/her welcome (sometime in the summer) you can. First thing though: your advisor is going to be a CIT general advisor, not an ECE one. Once you declare your major officially in spring of freshman year, you will be assigned an ECE one.
My suggestion is you wait until that happens and talk with your ECE advisor because there’s nothing you can do much in your freshman year that would only apply to a CS double major: everyone will be taking pretty much the same core classes. </p>
