Hi everybody,

I was wondering if I should FAFSA right now, while I'm home on break because I heard if you apply earlier, you get more aid (is there any truth to this)? Also, my friend said we can use our 2007 tax forms. Is that true at all? My priority deadline is March 31st, so I have plenty of time.

Thanks for the help guys!

You can file FAFSA before you have your '08 taxes done, generally by using your '07 tax numbers and adjusting with whatever '08 info you have. Then you correct later.

Most important thing is to meet the priority deadline for the schools.

Some schools say they dole out aid on a first-come first-served basis, but generally that refers to merit aid. Most that post here seem to think that so long as you file FAFSA by the priority deadline, you'll be fine.
