When to get a decision from University of Minnesota?

<p>UMN received all of my materials with the application between December 7th and December 10th- I'm pretty sure it was on the 7th.
The application tracker status changed to "Your application is being very carefully considered" on the 28th of December.
When should I expect a decision, or does it vary? </p>

<p>On a side note my stats are:
28 ACT
Weighted GPA: 4.08
Unweighted GPA: 3.7 or 3.8 roughly
Top 10% of my class<br>
-No community service/volunteer hours/work experience</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
String Quartet
Academic Bowl
Science Olympiad</p>

<p>Currently taking:
Honors Human Anatomy
AP Lit
Regular Physics
Advanced Orchestra 4
Took AP Macroeconomics 1st semester/AP Government 2nd semester
AP Statistics</p>

<p>Once my daughter’s status changed to “your application is being very carefully considered”, she heard within a week or so. If your status changed on December 28th, I think you will definitely hear something by next week. Good luck!</p>

<p>^Thanks so much! I read on another thread that people were finding out about a week later, but I didn’t know if it just happened to be those people or if that was a general procedure with UMN.
I had applied to CBS- what do you think my chances would be of getting in? I know my ACT score is a bit low for it.</p>
