When to Send Test Scores?

When applying to colleges, do you have to send SAT/ACT scores by their application deadlines or do the colleges have to receive those scores by then? I’ve read several websites and they all say conflicting things so I’m a little confused. Thanks!

Most colleges will accept grades up to 2 weeks after their application deadlines.
But… If you can, I would recommend sending them as soon as possible to avoid confusion.

Is this about this forum, fin aid/scholarships? If so, you need to read the fine print or ask the college.

For admissions, different schools have different policies. You don’t want them reading your app and not having all your info. Don’t rely on “websites.” Go to what the college say.

It really depends on the school. However, you should send the score early if you have determined to apply, particularly if you are not going to retake the test anymore. First, it may be viewed as expression of interest by submitting score early. Second, your score is not going to change anyway. Third, you can avoid the prime time delay and potential late for deadline. In any case, I would suggest to submit at least 2 weeks before deadline.

It seems this thread was moved, so ignore my prior post.

Just curious, when did you take your SAT/ACT? If you take them junior year, do you wait until oct/nov senior year to send for ED/EA?

@polarx135 I took my last SAT in May of junior year and my ACT in September of my senior year. And yes, I would wait until you’re sure which college(s) you’re applying early to and then send your scores, so a month or so before their deadline.
