I'm taking toefl ibt this month and have to select 4 colleges to send my scores before sitting for the test. Otherwise, there is an $18 fee for each additional score report.

Since it is only August, i.e well ahead of when I'll be submitting my applications (Nov/Dec) , is it okay to submit my toefl scores so early? Will the colleges be able to link my toefl scores to my application once it arrives after a few months?

Looking forward to responses! I'm taking the exam this week!

Yes, they’ll probably keep your scores on file. Do check though that they have received your scores after you submit your application. (They’ll probably have some sort of online tracking system where they record which items have been received. They’ll tell you how to access it after you submit your application. If not, email and ask.)

I requested all of my score reports before I submitted my applications. Only one university had displaced my scores in the meantime. One did not match my application and test scores automatically but still had the scores on file and found them when I emailed them. The rest connected my test scores and application without me having to do anything.

If you did well on ACT reading and writing, you are well-prepared for TOEFL reading and writing. Listening and speaking are a different matter though.

If you bump a thread several months old, with a question that’s no longer relevant (“is it okay to send my TOEFL scores this early?”), you might want to clarify what question(s) you’d like answered now.
