When to start college interviews?

I have visited 3 colleges already but I didn’t set up interviews with any of them. I’m a junior right now…when do I need to have an interview with someone from the college? After you apply senior year? Before you apply but during your senior year? Interview as a junior? Or in the summer?

Thanks in advance!

DD interviewed the summer after junior year. The bulk of them were done in August. She had 5 on campus interviews in a one week period. The others were done in the fall/winter of senior year. These were alumni interviews.

Each school will tell you how they handle admission interviews. Go to each website and find out. Some schools don’t offer interviews. Some will offer on campus, some will contact you only after you’ve sent in your app.

Wait until next spring…probably after March. Most colleges want you to be a senior…but some let you do interviews in late spring and summer. If you think about it, you don’t want to do it now because you still have a school years of activities to do!

Exactly, the summer after junior year! LOLOL

Several parents were annoyed with themselves that they hadn’t thought of their children interviewing in August. So many were there for tours & info sessions, but not interviews! They felt they had wasted a trip. Wished they had gotten those ever so important interviews out of the way during be lazy days of summer. Especially at 3 of the schools where she interviewed.
