I’m debating this topic with my high school senior. She wants to submit her scores when she applies to school and I don’t think that necessary until after she’s been accepted.
Does admissions consider AP test scores?
If she has 5s and 4s, they could help. I wouldn’t report 3s or lower now.
If by “submit” you mean the official score report, she does not need to send until after she is accepted. She can self-report the scores on her app. Whether the college will consider the scores depends upon the college. They certainly won’t hurt if the scores are strong.
Also if she is getting a teacher recommendation from one of the teachers who taught the AP class they may mention the score, as may the GC. I think self-reporting is fine. If the college is suspicious they can always follow up with the GC.
