<p>Do I have to study prior to taking? Or does it teach as you go</p>
<p>You don’t have to study. After you buy ALEKS, you take an initial assessment that tells you how much you know. Afterwords, you are allowed to go through practice problems and increase your score until it is where it needs to be. </p>
<p>I would take it pretty soon because if you fail the initial assessment miserably, it takes an annoying amount of time to increase your score.</p>
<p>Take the test as soon as possible. Less stress. If you don’t pass it, you still have time to take it again if you buy it now. And if you do pass it the first time then there are no worries. :]</p>
<p>ASAP so you have plenty of time to raise your score. If you don’t have a high enough score by certain dates, you’ll be dropped from that particular class. I know chemistry and math both have aleks tests. They’re a pain to do but just get them over with before school starts.</p>
