When to take placement tests?

The best time to take SAT II's for college placement is in May right? I know I'll have to take the spanish but I am not sure if I want to take Math I or Math II.

Math is NOT my strong suit, I made a 520 on the SAT last year. I need at least 620 on Math I or a 550 on the Math II to place into the class I want (Calc I).

If I can't get those scores I need at least 540 on Math I or a 480 on Math II to get into the Pre-calc class. I would rather place into calc I so I won't have to take Calc II over the summer. Though I know it all just depends on how well I do on the SAT IIs.

I am taking pre-cal now (and through next semsester, currently I have a C in the class) so should I go just take both Math SAT IIs or and just see which one I do better on?

You could indeed take both tests, or you could take a practice test for each exam and see which one you do better on.

While the Math I exam covers less material, it is graded stricter from what I have heard. It is also worth noting that the overall score distribution on the Math II exam is higher than on the Math I exam. In terms of numbers, 83% of the Math II test takers get at least a 550, but only 53% of Math I test takers get a 620 - the scores you would need to test into Calc.
