Hi, I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, and forgive me if I'm not, but I was wondering when is the best time for me to take the SAT II Biology test? I already finished my freshman biology course and am going to be a sophomore this year. Biology was my favorite class so I remember a lot about it and all, so should I take it this year?

Or should I wait until I take AP Biology, which my school doesn't let us take until senior year, which by that point it will be too late to even send in the scores?

^second that. It’s usually best to take the SATII directly after you’ve taken the equivalent high school course when the material is still fresh in your mind. However, since you have not yet taken AP Bio, you may have to take a bit of time to self study some of the material before you’re ready to take the SATII.

I took a basic College Prep Biology course my Sophomore year and took it right after school got out and got a 770. The only extra prep I did was reading through The PR review book and taking the Sparknotes tests online.

^I took the chem SATII without AP chem and got the same score as you. Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that self-studying was necessary (though in my case it certainly was) or that a regular biology course is inefficient for the subject test, only that the OP may wish to take the time to refresh her memories of the material and make sure that there isn’t anything covered on the SATII that she hasn’t learned in class.
