I'm going into jr. year and was wondering when is the best times to take SAT/SAT II's? And when did you decide to take yours?

I decided to take my SATII in June of my sophomore year (Math) and SAT in October. Since this is not feasible for you, I would take SAT in October and then take SATII in November which may or may not be tedious depending on your course load. However, I say this because taking the SAT consecutively without major practice will not lead to improvement. Therefore, you should concentrate on reassessing your skills before retaking the SAT for the second time.

^Interesting. I'd actually advocate the opposite though, focusing on one at a time. If I were you I'd take the SAT in November, retake it in January (because you will need to), and then either a) retake it a third time in March and take SAT IIs in June, or, if you're satisfied with your SAT I, use February-June to study for the SAT IIs, because they're also very important--a good SAT I score does NOT make up for a bad SAT II score. You can then retake the SAT IIs in October of your Senior year.

I myself took the SAT I this June, and am retaking it in November. I'm taking the SAT IIs in June, and maybe retaking them in October, though I probably won't have to since I'll have November-June to study.

^ It really depends what you're taking for your SAT II.

If you are taking math, take the SATIIC directly after you take Pre-Calculus so that the concepts will be fresh in your mind.
I retract my statement saying that you should take it in Nov; this might be rather tedious for you.

But however, I always recommend taking it directly after your courses as spending the summer without refreshing them is very injurious to your SAT II score.

I am in the same boat as you and my plan is as follows:

I plan on taking the SAT 1 on both the January and March test dates, that gives me a month and a half of studying time after my first test. Then I plan on taking my Biology SAT II on the May test date and the MATH IIC on the June test date
