Currently I'm a junior in high school and I was planning on taking the SAT Reasoning test in May this year. Should I also take my SAT Subject test in my junior year or is it possible to take it during your senior year? And this is completely random but to take a SAT Subject test should you have taken a AP course of the same subject? For example, if I want to take the SAT Chemistry Subject test would it be necessary for me to have taken an AP chemistry class?

For subject tests, it is not necessary to have taken the AP equivalent. It most often enough to have taken regular/honors for that subject.

I suggest taking subject tests in May, while studying for APs.

I suggest taking the reasoning test in June, when you have time to study.

Okay thanks for the reply. But I have one question, would you happen to know what the exact testing dates are for the subject tests or are they the same as the dates for the reasoning test? And where would I register for the subject tests, on collegeboard?

They are on the same dates as the reasoning test, except the March date doesn’t have subject tests. You register for them the same way you register for the reasoning test on Collegeboard.
