Hey guys!

I'm getting ready to start my sophomore year of undergrad and I want to start thinking more about the MCAT.

When should I take the test (I hope to start med school fall of 2015)? When should I begin studying? Also, with the upcoming changes to the test, what should I study/what materials should I use?

I started prep at the beginning of the summer after sophomore year, and took it at the end of August. Not sure about the new changes though. It’s best to take it before the changes if possible because there is most info on this version of the MCAT.

The new version of the MCAT will be in effect 2015. As of now, there is no writing portion of the exam. Instead, there is an optional 4th section which can be one of many subjects.

I think summer is always best. Take it in August 2013, don’t start studying until June, do one other full time thing. Your other option would be to balance it with coursework during your junior year and take it no later than may 2014.

Apples5 on did you study?

Closing old thread.
