When to take the SAT?

Here's my situation:

I am currently a junior, and will therefore graduate as a part of the 2010-2011 class. I would like to take the SAT general reasoning test in October of 2010, but I am worried that if I do this I won't be an eligible applicant until 2011, and will have to take a year off.

Basically, what's the latest date I can take the SAT and still apply to college without having to take a year off in between high school and college?

I think it depends on if you are applying to a college ED, but just out of curiosity, why can’t you take the SAT/ACT this year. I would suggest that you at least try to take it in May or June.

Depends on college and admission status. For RD, the last time is either in January or December (December is usually the most common choice for colleges). For ED/EA, most colleges pick October.

I am applying to UCs only, so what would that mean?

I want to my studying over the summer because i find it hard to study at night (troubling ADD).

I’m not sure what

what are UCs?

even if u want to study over the summer, take it once in march may or june and then your second time in october.

^Universities of California ex: UC Berkeley and UCLA
Yes, I would definitely suggest that you take it before your senior year.

Take it in either January or May and you can order the test booklet with your answer sheet. It will be very helpful to use for review. You can only get a copy legally by taking the actual SAT in either October, January or May.

^What do you mean by getting a copy legally? Can one not use their scores from the December SAT or June SAT?
