Two of my interviewers gave me their contact information in case I had any other questions, to let them know if I get in, etc. Should I take this as an invitation to send them a thank you email now, and then contact them again after I get my decision? Or should I just do it later this April?

Also, if they gave me their physical address, would it be better to mail them a note/letter?

Send the thank-you note immediately after the interview. You’re thanking them for your time, not for getting you in. The same is true for when you should give your GC and teachers a thank-you note:After the GC and teachers send your recommendations.

After you get accepted to colleges, let your GC know and let interviewers know who interviewed you for those colleges.

Thanks for the advice. What if I have no way to contact the other interviewers, though? And I thought it might be a better idea to contact them in a few days since I did thank them pretty vigorously as we were about to leave and I don’t want to be excessive.

Also, about the teachers: the two that I asked for recommendations won’t be at school for the rest of the year so I guess the only way to contact them would be to ask the department heads to forward my message. Since I can’t see them in person, I’m kind of worried that it would be intrusive if I sent them a letter now and then another one in two months.

90% of the effectiveness of a thank you note is in the timing. Promptness is key. A TY note sent two weeks after an interview will hardly be seen as full of gratitude, more like a duty reluctantly fulfilled. (This also applies to cases of gifts, dinner parties, and other favours.)

Personally I always thought it seemed somewhat awkward to send the thank you as soon as I got home. If I send by email, I wait until the next day or so. If I go by mail, I make sure it gets there with the next 3 or 4 days.

Some schools have common practices surrounding gifts. Here, most thank you gifts are given to recommending teachers during the weeks before December exams, around the holidays. If your school has a common gift giving time, you can wait until then.
