I am a comp sci major and my cumulative GPA with 44 hours is going to be a 3.65(had a 3.75 before this semester - physics killed me). I am applying to GA Tech, UIUC, UT Austin, and TAMU. Should I wait mid junior year(around 72ish hours..Spring 2012) to apply, or should I apply for Fall 2011? Are they any good comp sci schools with excellent job outlooks that I would get into with my current GPA? The longer I stay at my current school, the longer it will be before I graduate so I am trying to transfer ASAP. Thanks!

I think you have pretty good chance at all of those schools. your gpa is actually pretty good, so you should transfer fall 2011.

Anyone else? My first priority is UIUC because they have a 5 year undergrad/masters program I am interested in.

Most places will only accept two full years of academic credits (60 SH), so there is not much point in waiting until half-way through your third year (around 72 SH) to transfer. Do check carefully though with each university as some will accept up to 90 SH from an accredited 4-year college/university. You also need to take a look at the specific coursework requirements for your planned degree program. Sometimes there are courses that must be taken in a particular sequence so it is best to get started ASAP.

I will have all the prereqs done(physics I & II, Chem I, Cal 1,2,3 and Spanish I&2) by then. My question is will I get into one of these with my low GPA or should I wait it out?
