<p>I am a sophomore this year. Is this summer OK time to ivisit a few colleges? Or is it too early? I plan to visit some during summer after junior year but would be concentrating mostly on prepping for ACT and taking it. Thanks.</p>
<p>I visited a few during the summer between sophomore and junior years and I’m convinced it was a waste of time. Every college visit is basically the same and while you should definitely visit somewhere before you commit to going there, I think you can hold off on visits until you’re much closer to making a decision. There’s very little that I know about any of the places I applied that I couldn’t have found out from the Internet or friends or another source. </p>
<p>Good points. Some colleges do seem to prefer candidates that showed interest by visiting. </p>
<p>Ehh it’s minimal at best. Going on a visit is not going to be the thing that gets you admitted somewhere you otherwise would’ve been denied. Some of the places I visited didn’t even keep track. I signed up for all the tours but a few of them didn’t bother checking if I showed up.</p>
