I was so proud of Kerry for coming out as a unifying force and not dragging the election out (as he could have done easily). It shows that America's best interests are important to him--it would not have been good for us to have another 11 days of limbo, and he knew the OH margin was "insurmountable". Good man, that Sen. Kerry. =)

I'm still skeptical about the Reps and Dems being a "happy family" in congress. I would love it if that happened, or if they even came together somewhat...but I don't see how it's possible, given the super-polarized climate on Capitol Hill.

Remember guys: even though states like connecticut and illinois and wisconsin and florida and texas all look completely blue or red on those MSNBC maps, that doesn't mean the votes were 100% for that candidate. don't blame it on Ohio--heck, the popular vote was pretty stricking: 3.5 million more for Bush. Even in my home state of Connecticut, my parents voted Bush and my home town voted in a razor thin margin for Kerry. It's not as if it's the rural states that are deciding...people in the Northeast support Bush too. I hate these stereotypes. (And people in Texas and Florida and Ohio support Kerry)
