When/Where should I apply?

Hello NorCal, thank you for the response. In regards to:

Meanwhile, apply to each of your 3 schools (Mines, CU and CSU) any time between now and the end of November.

I was told by a friend at Mines (who worked in the Financial Aide office) that you should wait to apply until you have your score back (because you put the score in the application) because if they receive a score, and you apply, and then they receive another score, the second score is just thrown out. I will continue to read up on this information you have provided me. Thanks again,
Patrick

Patrick, the ACT website indicates that early scores become available during the early viewing period between Nov. 14-16, so I would suggest that you do everything you can to prepare the rest of your applications and simply plug in the latest scores when they become available. I don't know that any school will have the second set of scores "thrown out", but if you want to wait until the end of November to submit your applications, that shouldn't pose a problem. By then, you will hopefully have the new set of scores.

Check with each school's admissions office to see how they handle incoming ACT scores from retakes (this assumes you've already had scores sent previously to these schools?). I just think it would serve you well to apply before the "priority date" deadline. You should be OK regardless, but don't delay any longer than Dec. 15. Stay organized with each school, especially with their various financial aid processes. Sounds like you're on top of things.
