Does a preliminary financial aid offer arrive "soon" after decisions or not until much later once official CSS/FAFSA forms have been submitted?

I’m fairly certain you can’t get any aid until you submit the FAFSA/CSS. Financial aid at MIT is entirely need-based.

CSS was submitted Nov 1 (for Questbridge Match), however as that is not a final copy, I presume then that offers will not be made until submissions are made after Jan 1. Will awards be made generally all on the same day or rolling?

The FAFSA/CSS forms aren’t due until February 15th. Though I’m not sure if award decisions are rolling or released on the same day for those who met the deadline - call the financial aid office?

Last year, all financial aid decisions were mailed together. The goal each year is to mail the financial aid packages by April 1, but they are often available by mid-March when RD decisions are released.
