When will I find out if I passed hte Prescreen?

Hello Forum!

First time poster, Long time reader. I'll cut to the chase though. I'm a music composition major at a conservatory in the Northeast. I've applied to several conservatories, including one with a required interview/audition on the west coast. How far in advance are you typically invited to interview/audition in person?

Thanks!

apologies for my spelling error in the title of the post.

Often, you don’t get a lot of warning between the notification and the audition date. There is nothing wrong with politely asking the school when they are going to send out info and how it is done (email, snail mail, etc)?

Usually end of December-beginning of January. Assume Christmas-New Years week will not have any updates.

Thanks! I appreciate it!

As I remember (for composition in northeast conservatories) it was late December that we heard about prescreenings. Auditions were late Feb., early March, and the conservatories work it out so you don’t have conflicts and so auditions at, say, two conservatories in NYC, are close to one another.
