When will I get acceptance letters? Didn't finish essay yet...

I applied to the University of Delaware, Monmouth University, and Richard Stockton College of NJ on November 16th. I applied using the common app. My transcript, teacher recommendations, and SAT scores have all been received by these colleges. I however haven't submitted the writing supplements.

The University of Delaware's writing supplement is optional, but I want to do it so I'll have a better chance of being accepted. The Richard Stockton writing supplement is required. For Monmouth University's writing supplement I'm confused. On the common app I chose my major as undeclared, but it told me I had to have a second choice for my major. I chose nursing for my second major and then after I submitted it I was told I had to write an essay on nursing. Do I have to do this essay? I just want to be undeclared.

Will I have enough time to do the writing supplement for the University of Delaware? I'm afraid that I'll get my letter before I turn it in. Also do I have to do the Monmouth University essay for nursing if I don't want to be a nurse? Thanks!

Yes, you had better turn in the writing supplement. UD could end up making its decision without it and if is possible it could affect a number of things. FOr RSC, they would likely put your app on incomplete status until the letter is received. If you don’t want a shot at nursing, then don’t do the essay for Monmouth.

As to when you will get accept letters, it varies by school. An issue could be with UD if they roll with admissions. If you get rejected and you didn’t have your writing supplement in there, getting reconsidered with it could be problematic. Since you don’t have a required part of your RSC app in yet, when you get the accept might depend on that.

Hello @Medapop‌ ,

I work at Monmouth University and an essay is mandatory for your file to be reviewed. If you are applying for nursing, their is a separate essay that is Nursing related. I see that you are looking to be undeclared, so I can change your major on our system, if you would email me at kkornega@monmouth.edu with your full name. You will have to submit an essay, but it does not have to be related to nursing. I hope that this helps. I look forward to hearing from you.
