I received a letter from Drexel a week ago stating that my VIP Application was moved to the Admissions committee so that a admission decision will be made. When can I expect to receive my decision in the mail(based off of those that have received acceptances already)?

i sent out my vip app a couple of days or maybe a week or so ago too. and i haven’t gotten a decision yet

Be sure to check your online login. I haven’t received an email or a letter yet, but I logged into my account and there was my decision.

how did you do that? what account?

where is the online login and account. Sent in vip app a couple weeks ago and received no info on account or password. any help appreciated

I received this email a few weeks back:

Thank you for your application and interest in Drexel University .

Here at Drexel we know this time of your life can be very stressful and confusing. Filling out college applications, making sure your application is complete, then deciding where you will spend the next 4 or 5 years of your life can be a bit overwhelming. That’s where I come in; I am here to help you while you make your application complete. I will be here to notify you if you are missing documents, remind you of upcoming deadlines, and of course answer any questions or concerns you and your family may have. So, keep my contact information close by and please feel to contact me at any time.

While I was looking over your application I noticed your application is incomplete. Since Drexel has rolling admissions, which means we review applications as they become the complete, the sooner you have your documents submitted the sooner you can hear a decision. You may even hear a decision before Thanksgiving and possibly be eligible for any merit scholarship Drexel has to offer.

You can check the status of your application anytime of the day by going to: https://discover.drexel.edu/cp/home/displaylogin . Your Drexel ID number is … and your pin is …

wow thanks for this. I"m guessing my app is complete, because i don’t remember getting an e mail like that. But i think i’ll e mail admissions and ask about it. Thanks again.

My account information didn’t come in an email, it was on the letter they sent me that said they received my application. If you kept that letter, check, it should be on there I logged on and saw my acceptance on the page.

duh, you are 100% correct. thanks!

no prob. good luck

How soon after you submitted your application did you get a letter? Did anyone get an email confirmation that your application was received?

I got an acceptance package in the mail today.

Just to clarify - I’m wondering about anyone getting a letter/email/something to confirm that Drexel received your application. Did you hear back from them after submitting, and if so, how long after you submitted did you hear back and what form was it in (snail mail, email?)
Thanks

I got a letter within a week of sending in the last part of my application (transcripts) saying that they have received everything necessary.

I also got an email thanking me for my application

what does it mean when they say? “We have evaluated your file and are pleased to inform you that you are now on our waiting list for admission to Drexel University. An official letter will be sent to you by mail shortly.”

cometstarg- thanks for the reply. Do you remember how soon after you sent your application you got the email thanking you?

@ qcubed:

That means that they can’t admit you yet but are putting you on a waitlist of other applicants so that when admitted applicants do not send in their enrollment deposits they can then offer those seats to waitlisted applicants.

Basically, you haven’t been accepted or rejected from Drexel, but rather, when they know about their final enrollment numbers, they will let you know if there is an available seat.

I don’t know when they will notify you about your waitlist status; it could be as soon as January or as late as May. I would ask your guidance counselor to call the admissions counselor at Drexel and talk to them about your situation. Sometimes they can arrange to send mid-year grade reports and additional recommendations to get you moved off of the waitlist and into the pool of accepted students.

Best of luck!

How soon after you submitted your application did you get the email thanking you? Want to be sure application was actually submitted and reached them.

I got an email thanking me for my application the same day I completed it online. The letter saying they got everything was a few days after I sent them my transcripts.
