I've was accepted to SMU a few months ago, but until now I have not received anything from the financial aid office.

The other day I received this email:

Congratulations once again on your admission to SMU! We are excited about the possibility of welcoming you to campus as part of the Class of 2016 this fall.

As you begin to make plans, we want to ensure that we have the necessary information to maximize all funding sources for which you might be eligible. Although you were automatically considered for our merit and academic scholarships when we reviewed your application for admission, we encourage you to also submit the Application for Financial Aid Scholarships to ensure that the financial aid staff is able to consider you for even more scholarship opportunities at SMU. You can complete the form here. We would also encourage you to explore scholarships from sources such as foundations and other groups. A list of links to free scholarship searches is available here.

SMU wants to partner with you, your family, and other available resources, including state and federal funding, to explore your financial options. If you are seeking financial aid, as do a majority of our applicants, there are two forms required in addition to the Application for Financial Aid Scholarships, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the College Scholarship Service Profile (CSS/Profile®). If you have not already done so, please submit these forms at your earliest convenience. Once these forms are received, the financial aid staff will utilize this information to determine your eligibility for need-based assistance. Through these processes, we have been able to provide financial assistance to partner with the majority of our undergraduate students.

If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your Financial Aid Advisor. We look forward to hopefully seeing you on campus soon!

Does that mean a scholarship/financial aid packet should be coming soon?
