When will I get my Housing Contract?

I applied for housing like march 15 or something, so when do you think I will receive my contract? When I click on the Housing Status link on UTdirect, it just says "Your Fall housing application is active." and it says I am 100% complete, paid and erything.

I know I applied late but when can I put down my dorm preferences etc.?

bump when will i find out where im living next fall?

It can take from a week to three weeks. At this point in time they’re probably processing like everyone and their mom.

I sent my application for fall/spring housing in late Feb. and got the contract a week later, but then I also needed a contract for the summer and so I did that one in March and it took like two and a half weeks.

Email them if you have to! housing@austin.utexas.edu

Then everyone starts getting their assignments in mid-late July for the fall/spring

@onthefly: Make sure there is not a white button at the bottom of the page that says “View printable contract”. Contract return deadlines are pretty short, too. If you are under 18, you will need to print it out and sign along with a parent/guardian and mail it in. We have had a contract for a while, so I don’t quite remember what the language was before, but I do remember that until I read the page through word for word, I thought my son was going to get a contract in the mail to sign and send back. And keep an eye on your email.

I also agree w/sasha. Call them or email if your wait time has been long to make sure there are no glitches. My inclination would be to call at this late date, although they are saying you have an “active application”.

wow i guess I messed up. I don’t have the “view printable contract” button and a housing contract was never emailed to me. I don’t know what happened but I sent myself a confirmation email so hopefully I will get a contract soon.

I thought I would just fill out the housing application and then they would send a contract to the email that I gave, but I guesss not. Seems pretty confusing to me

Don’t panic yet. If you don’t have a “view printable contract” button it means they have not, indeed, offered you a contract yet. Did you pay your enrollment deposit before or after you applied for housing? I would CALL housing or at the very least email them to see if you are going to be offered a contract. We have not heard on CC that they have stopped offering housing contracts as fall as I can tell. But if your other info says “application is active” and it has been several weeks, I would follow through with them. I believe most people have contracts at this point, so I would want to know what is happening.

Are you a transfer student or an incoming freshman? That might make a difference. My understanding is that freshman get first shot at dorm space (by application date, of course). By that, I mean an incoming freshman applying on March 15 would get preference over a transfer student applying on the same date. (Anyone with knowledge to the contrary please correct me if I am wrong here.)

I don’t recall the housing contract being emailed – we accessed it directly from the button on my son’s UT Housing Status page. But it may be that my son got an email alerting him, too.

I don’t think I can stress strongly enough, if living on campus is important to you, that you follow up on this before any more time passes.

Here is the page with the process and timeline:

[Contract | Freshmen | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/freshmen/housing/contract/)

Read this and all the succeeding pages. It’s very straightforward. If your situation deviates from this, I would CALL THEM. Phone:(512) 471-3136

I love that it turned the colon symbol, followed by a left parenthesis into a sad face. Ha! :D

The sad face on CC just looks so… sad…

I think it’s the droopy eyebrows…
