We just checked an hour ago and my D was just accepted (OOS-Illinois). Very exciting news for us. Thanks to fallenchemist for all of his insight regarding the application process. Hopefully this means that a slew of other acceptances will be out soon for those who have been nervously and/or patiently waiting to hear. Good luck to all of the applicants and their families.

For those that want to know what to expect, the website offered congratulations and indicated that admitted students will receive instructions on accessing a personalized admitted student website within two weeks. The site also explained that my D will soon receive a formal admission letter and invitations to special programs for admitted students. Good luck again.

D was accepted (SoCal)!! So excited! Her app was complete end of September and we’ve been obsessively checking! Good luck to all as admittances roll in!

I’m from Louisiana and I fit under their automatic acceptance policy for louisiana students so I’m a little worried that I haven’t received any word yet…

@oliviaarpie - If you are an automatic, then why worry at all? I could see them putting you towards the end since you really already know the answer and they can spend time on the other candidates first. But I suspect the real reason is a combination of just overall timing (how busy your admissions person is) and that they still have to consider you for merit scholarships, perhaps. Since that is part of the admissions package (when you get the paper confirmation) it isn’t as simple as having the computer just automatically spit out your acceptance.

Congrats to all that have gotten the word so far, looks like the train is starting to roll.

@1strodeo @iampia @blakew1nter do any of you mind providing stats and info about ECs? It would give me peace of mind to compare myself to people who have been accepted. Congratulations by the way!!!

I’m a first-time poster and long-time lurker. I’m from Illinois and learned today that I was accepted!!! Although not a clear number one, Tulane is my favorite school and I can’t wait to hold the acceptance letter in my hands! I’d like to thank Fallen Chemist for being a supportive voice to posters and non-posters alike!

Yes, although denials at this stage are fairly rare as far as I can see in the past. They usually defer unless you are truly and obviously not qualified. But they do post any decision they make on Gibson.

@engineering2015, don’t drive yourself crazy. I think it’s too early to focus on stats. It could depend on which AC’s have had time to review and admit. My D is a high stat applicant who visited Tulane and really loves it.

@oliviaarpie My D was a LA auto admit 2 years ago and she didn’t get her acceptance until the middle of December. Don’t worry about it if you have the stats, like fc said, they do still look at your app for merit scholarships so it still takes time.
