Daughter got accepted. Thanks and congratulations to all of you… Decision time awaits though it is on our court now…

i got in today and i only applied on January 6 or 7. since it happened so quickly does that mean i might get a good scholarship or is it all random??

I applied on November 13 and was accepted yesterday! So happy! I think I may end up there.

Dang, now I’m starting to get worried. But congratulations to everyone that applied!

Can someone please tell me if i have a chance to get in. I know my sat scores are really low. I studied aboard for years in china and i have a really unique essay. I have 3 different languages on my transcript and i take mostly college level classes. And I applied for business. I am a horrible test taker.

Sat: 1100/1590
Gpa: 93 Weighted
Really good essay
decent EC

got accepted on Jan 26 and applied on Dec 5. really didnt see it coming!

Should I be concerned if I received an email 2 days ago asking me to submit my mid-year senior grades? If it matters, I’m out-of-state (Connecticut), and had near average SAT scores for Stony Brook (Math + CR). Or did everyone need to submit 1st semester grades???

Mahn…i m an international stdnt nd my solar hasn’t updated yet! :/

Chris, how many decisions have been sent out so far?

For those of you who been accepted, how did you find out?

First on SOLAR and then we received the snail mail yesterday.

I applied in late October… my SOLAR has yet to update. The suspense is killing me! I am hoping for the best, though. Is it possible to get a decision notification via regular mail first as opposed to via SOLAR? Also, if SOLAR updates itself, is an email sent as well?

A friend of mine (with a gpa of 2.7 and an sat around 1250/2400) applied to SBU in mid January and just last weekend received a rejection letter. I applied some time in mid October and have yet to hear anything.

A possible explanation for those who have not yet heard:
Admissions is waiting to see your mid year grades before they make a decision to accept/deny you because your gpa/ test scores are borderline.

Just a theory.

@ayitsmebrittany

There is no correlation between when you applied and when you here back. They do applications in a random order so there’s equality. If they want you’re mid year grades they’ll ask for it.

On Super Bowl Sunday I received an e-mail saying that my admissions decision was posted on SOLAR, so Iogged in and saw that I was accepted! They said that my acceptance letter would come in the next two weeks, and it finally showed up yesterday. My application was complete around mid-December.
I’m actually a little surprised that I got in as my grades and tests scores are kind of low (SAT 1730, GPA 3.4). I guess coming from an excellent high school and having good EC’s really helped me!
Good luck to everyone that is still waiting!! :)

@Vball104 Congrats!
Those are around my stats as well! I’m hoping to find out if I get accepted soon. I’m so nervous

I’m an international student that got in a few days ago. I had a 3.5 UW GPA, 2110 SAT, 800 SAT chem and 770 SAT Math 2.

My D was accepted to Stony Brook. So far accepted to University of Rochester and Northeastern. Congrats to all accepted and good luck to all waiting!
