I applied/had everything turned in by October 7th. I am out of state, so when do you think I will hear from them? I have a 3.98 GPA and a 28 ACT (6 AP, 4 honors).

Thank you!

You should be able to answer questions like this yourself. If you cant find it on the web site call them.

The web page I found says “end of jannuary”

UW only commits to respond by the end of the cycle. The decision could be admit/deny/postpone. UW does not seem to release any decisions until after Nov 1, so decisions have just started coming out. However, keep in mind, it is not first in, first out – what would be a pure rolling admission. Rather it is cycles – apply by x date and hear by y date.

@mitchklong I’ve seen that, but there are people who have already been accepted and I want to know why they were admitted so early and when the usual time to hear back from them is from people who went through this before. With other schools I’ve applied to, I heard from them fairly early.

We have watched 2-3 admissions cycles at UW – for my own student and for friends’ kids. Typically, the students receiving acceptances early in the cycle are very high stat kids-- ACTs 34+ etc. Other students can expect to wait more or less the full cycle, and keep in mind that one of the decision options is “postponed” – rolled over into the next cycle to see how an applicant compares to the rest of the applications.
