I applied for Fall '08, and got a guarantee transfer offer for Spring '09 (so that I could finish up my core courses before I transfered in). I'm still taking the courses, but I was wondering if anyone else was in this situation, or knows when I'll be able to start applying for classes, and getting housing situated?

When I called (two days ago) I was told that all I could do was wait, but I'd like to get a single dorm before everyone else snatches them up.

You will probably hear back with the rest of the spring transfers, sometime in December.

How does housing work? I have to wait until December to piece together financial aid, housing, meal plan, courses? Is that for everyone or just us transferring in?

cheers

This is what I know:

We get our decisions sometime in December. Our fin aid arrives about a week after. For spring admission we have to let them know ASAP whether we accept or not. Once we accept, we are guaranteed on-campus housing as long as we fill out the housing paperwork before their deadline.

As far as housing, I highly doubt that we'll get to pick and choose our housing; they'll probably put us wherever there is space (most likely we'll replace people that graduated in December or are studying abroad).

For picking classes, Cornell students have already registered for next semester, so we would be at a disadvantage unless they set aside class slots for transfers.
