I sent in my application around december 1st. I'm out of state, and have not heard yet. When can I expect to hear?

By 1 April.

You should hear soon, since you applied early. But, like theloneranger said, it could be as late as April 1st.

I applied on Jan.31......Will it hurt my chance?

No, it will not, because they consider each applicant equally. You may hear back late but it should not hurt your chances.

OMG the wait is KILLING ME!!!! x.x i check online before i go to school...twice during school...again after school...and again before i go to sleep...gah! i really want to know if i got accepted or not ><

just wondering guys,
As we get closer to April 1st,... will my chances of getting in decrease much more (say.. exponentially lol)? I'm guessing maybe why I'm not hearing so soon, is my school doesn't rank.. so that might take some time....

That was totally me before I got in. What makes it worse it that we use laptops at our school, so I would check my application status instead of taking notes. It really was terrible.

Well, when did you apply? Truthfully, your chances cannot go down as the time goes on. You are considered just as much as every other applicant. Many people get accepted close to the deadline. Just keep up hope!

^I applied November 16.........

I really hope I get in...

I applied on November 30 or December 1, I hope I get in more. One of my friends a couple of years ago applied December 1 and he found out during Spring Break. Perhaps that is when we all will find out, hopefully all acceptances.

yea hopefully we at least find out by spring break so we can celebrate lol xD

Heh, my spring break started last Thursday.....
so I'm probably gonna hear sometime during my spring break.

Wish you guys the best of luck lol

I went to an info session at UT and the admissions counselor said that most OOS decisions come out around March 20th so we will probably get the decisions around then.

oOo thanx for the info ^^

heh, that's what I was told too... around the last two weeks of March.
But not to scare any of you... aren't most of the decisions rejections? soo like.. maybe they mean that majority of those who hear at that time will probably be rejections? cuz OOS acceptance is around 30%, and instate people who are in top 10 hear before then anyways because their decisions are rolling...

_<

You cannot think like that. Stay positive!

Yes, stay positive.

Remember that most CC posters are well above the average kid in stats and in ECs and essays, and they have a very good chance.

I also don't want to bring anyone's hopes down, but what I've been hearing is that they're expecting 80-85% of the freshman class to be Texas top-ten kids. However, they may just admit less non-top ten kids from Texas, so I don't think it will hurt OOS kids as much.

Wow .

Just heard from some moms that non top 10% kids at our high school are starting to hear, so decisions must be coming out now or in near future.

Good luck!!

thats insane, well there goes any hope i had. where did that statistic come from?
