hi, UNC did not get my transcript (school screw up) until about nov 15. IF i am qualified will i still get a likely letter of acceptance later or will they just tell me on the january deadline

bump.......bump..........10 char

I have the exact same(November 15 too) situation/question.

Well, good luck to both of us.

bump!

my rec wasn't logged in the computer system until two days ago, even though it's been sitting in my file for a month.

And for the record, the people in the UNC admissions officers were extremely friendly and helpful when I called to ask about it.

They didn't get one of my daughter's essays and something else. I believe that was November or early December and she was still notified in early January.

yeah, they didn't get my transcript/counselor rec till Nov. 19 and they said it would be fine. They have enough people that apply before the deadline that they can just evaluate them first and wait on the late submissions. They realize that sometimes stuff like this happens. As long as your part of the application is there and they get your stuff soon, it shouldn't be a problem.

yes.. but when will LIKELY LETTERS be released? if at all

it seems that all likely letters were sent nov. 16th, but maybe they'll send out a second batch.

I bet that they'll send out some pre-Christmas likely letters or e-mails. Last year they sent out both on 12/20? ---But also last year, I'm fairly certain, that they did not send likely letters out at Thanksgiving like they did this year. UNC seems to like to take advantage of that holiday high that people get--that's smart on their part.

What is a "likely" letter?

A letter sent to top candidates stating that they have a great application and they would love for them to come, basically an unofficial early acceptance.
